The Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, better known as IIM Ahmedabad or simply IIM-A, is a school of management located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
IIMA is ranked as the toughest and no.1 business school in the world according to the Business Today B-School Rankings in 2007-08,2008-2009.[1] The Economic Times B-school Survey 2009.[2] as well as The Centre for Forecasting & Research ranked IIMA as India's top business school in 2009.[3] IIMA has European Quality Improvement System accreditation. It is ranked No. 8 in Financial Times B-School rankings 2010, first Indian institution to feature in top 10 in worldwide rankings.[4] In the 2009 QS Global 200 Business Schools Report[5] the school was ranked 11th in the Asia Pacific region.
According to the Economist's survey of global business schools in 2009, IIMA is considered to be the "toughest in the world to get into" as over 600 people compete for every seat
